Soul vs Ego

Contrary to popular thought, the ego isn’t in and of itself bad. What isn’t helpful is when it’s out of balance and in the driver’s seat of your life.
The ego is a tool for experiencing this world and taking in perceptions as information regarding this life experience. The ego is willing to help you, but it only has access to knowledge, which is all past-based only. Meaning, you learned it in your past from someone else or an experience you had in the past that you don’t want to repeat, so the ego keeps you feeling worried so you don’t repeat it.
The soul has direct access to the wisdom of Source and shares it with you to help you in life. The soul knows your plan for this life and tries to steer you in the right direction, but it can get pretty difficult if ego is driving the car of your life.
Both want to help you and both use two very different means to achieve that end.
You could also consider the soul and the ego as the angel and devil on the shoulders. The classic epitome of the perceived good versus evil, since most people are fed the belief that our ego is worth destroying.
But if we want to destroy a part of ourselves, we will be at war with ourselves because the ego is part of the human experience. We are not here to transcend or outgrow it, but to ensure it stays in its place and is the tool we need it to be when we need it.
The soul is the most important relationship you will ever have, next to Source.
